THE 5G NB-IoT INNOVATION LAB

In partnership with T-Mobile, the 5G NB-IoT Innovation Lab is located in Bayamon, Puerto Rico and is one of the first in Latin America. It has internet connection of up to 100GB of download and upload. The laboratory has different types of 3D printers such as Prusa, Ultimaker, Raise 3D, Gigabot, Makerbot among others. It also has 3D printers Formlabs that print in resin.

In the 5G NB-IoT Innovation Lab, we give you access as a startup to the best 5G ecosystem to help you solve any problem you and your team are facing. As a startup, you’ll have unparalleled access to open software platforms and APIs, enterprises and markets needed to create, test and deploy new use cases and innovations for 5G.

As part of our program, Engine-4 and the 5G and NB-IoT Laboratory have made an incubation program for young University Students. To incubate in our first phase 10 Groups of 3 students of the different Universities in PR. This Incubation program is based on the creation of solutions in the fields of Smart Cities and Agriculture that includes Urban, Transportation, Waste Disposal, Energy, Water and Resilient Agriculture using 5G, NB-IoT technologies. Each group will be awarded up to $10,000 dollars, for the development of their conceptual idea and may use our Laboratory that has different equipment and tools to help the development of your Incubation. They will also have help with mentors in the part of entrepreneurship which will be of great help if they want to continue their idea as a Startup.

3D Printing

In the 5G Nb-IoT Innovation Lab we have several 3D printers where we can print parts in different types of materials and sizes. We have BCN3D, Ultimaker, Raise 3D, Makerbot, Gigabot, Prusa, among others. We also have Formlab printers with which we can print in resin, cure them in alcohol and pass them through a UV light treatment.

Internet of Things

The Internet of Things (IoT) is a system of interrelated computing devices, mechanical and digital machines, objects, animals or people that are provided with unique identifiers and the ability to transfer data over a network without requiring human-to-human or human-to-computer interaction.

Drones

To work with technology on farms is very important the use of drones.Since we have an incredible vision at different heights to perform different works such as mapping with photos, Lidar scanning, thermal photos and recording videos. Besides, there are already drones for irrigation of vitamins, water or herbicide.

Pandemic Times

Puerto Rico began a quarantine on March 16, 2020, a date that will never be forgotten. The country’s economy stopped as well as in many parts of the world. Demand for protection gear to fight the virus increased and I create a shortage of professionals working every day to combat covid-19. Therefore, at the 5G Nb-IoT Innovation lab, we took the initiative to design and print in 3d more than 18,000 face shields. Impacting 52 Hospitals, 42 CDTs, 5 Hospitals in Florida, and 7 Hospitals in New York.
